What it is
StickyArchive is a web-based digital sticky-note wall that gives community notes a searchable, permanently preserved public bulletin board. Built as the 69th installment of a rapid AI-assisted development ("vibe coding") series, it works as both a public canvas and an interactive micro-journal.
Users can browse and post for free in the browser without signing up: submissions are filtered by a built-in automated moderation mechanism, keeping the barrier to participation low while preventing spam from flooding the wall.
Core value proposition
The project fills the gap between local, temporary desktop sticky notes and public micro-blogging discussion spaces.
- Controlled permanence: submissions are archived after automated review, avoiding chaotic spam and forming a long-term timeline of community ideas.
- Zero-maintenance infrastructure: built entirely on the Cloudflare serverless edge ecosystem, keeping latency very low while achieving zero server hosting spend.
- Multi-scope privacy isolation: supports public topic walls visible to everyone and, following early feedback, was quickly extended with dedicated Boards for personal drafts and prompt organization.
What it can replace
| Target software | Feasibility | Verdict & use-case context |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Sticky Notes | Moderate | Suited to users who want cross-device web sync and public community display, but lacks native desktop pinned / docked widget support. |
| Padlet | Moderate | A lightweight alternative for public boards without a complex subscription, though it lacks education / enterprise-grade granular permission management. |
| Twitter / X (early micro-thoughts) | Partial | Brings back an early, algorithm-free feed experience for casually recording brief moods and instant thoughts. |
Current realities and limitations
- No instant long-lived push connection: the wall currently relies on manual page refreshes to fetch new data; WebSocket or SSE real-time delivery is not yet in place.
- Long-page scroll navigation needs work: when paging back through large volumes of notes from past dates, the UI lacks a sticky floating nav bar and a "back to top" shortcut.
- Limited rich text and layout freedom: compared with full-featured whiteboard tools, notes are mostly plain text, with no deep layout or multimedia attachments.
Verdict
Primary recommendation
A zero-friction idea stash and public digital time capsule for creators, prompt engineers, and everyday note-takers.
Development lifecycle and tech stack
The whole app is built on the Cloudflare edge computing stack, oriented toward minimal operational cost and high elasticity.
| Stage / Component | Technology used |
|---|---|
| Frontend Framework | Nuxt (Vue) |
| Backend API | Hono |
| Database | Cloudflare D1 (Serverless SQL) |
| Content Moderation | Cloudflare Workers AI |
| Edge Hosting | Cloudflare Pages / Workers |
Cost profile
Total infrastructure running cost: $0.00 (fully within Cloudflare's free tier).
Metrics and monetization
The project is currently completely free to use, with no paywall or subscription.
- Community feedback and iteration: after launch it quickly drew attention and upvotes on r/vibecoding, and within 24 hours the author shipped a Personal Boards feature in response to community requests for storing private prompts and thoughts.
- Typical case value: as an edge-native app, it demonstrates how a solo developer using AI coding tooling can launch within days and sustain public traffic at zero operational cost.
